Setting Up Outlook Express 4 for Windows

The following instructions assume that you have a proper installation of Outlook Express 4 and a SolvNet Internet account.

  • Open Outlook Express.
     
  • If prompted to choose a Setup Option: Select I already have an Internet connection set up on this computer and I do not want to change it.
     
  • Click the Next button.

  • Click the Finish button.
     

  • If prompted to select a folder where Outlook Express should keep your messages, click OK to accept the default folder, or choose another folder and click OK.
     

  • In the Display name text box, type your name.
     

  • Click the Next button.
     
  • In the E-mail address text box, type your E-mail address.
     

  • Click the Next button.
     
  • In the drop-down listbox, select POP3.
     
  • In the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server text box, type solvnetmail.net
     
  • In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server text box, type solvnetmail.net
     

  • Click the Next button.
     
  • In the POP account name text box, type your username.
     
  • In the Password text box, type your password.

  • Click the Next button.
     
  • In the Internet mail account name text box, type a name for this email account, i.e.. solvnetmail.net(this name can be anything you want).

  • Click the Next button.
     
  • Select Connect using my phone line.

  • Click the Next button.
     
  • Select Use an existing dial-up connection.
     
  • Select your Solvnet connection.

  • Click the Next button.
     
  • Click the Finish button.
